But I really like this.

Kinja'd!!!

Seem like a pretty decent price for it I think. Manuel too!

The only issues I see are the faded badges, which is a BMW thing, and it looks like there’s a piece of trim missing around the rear driver’s side door?

That trim looks to be weather stripping.

Would any dealer consider a trade-in?

For the whopping price of $2,000. Which is in no way in hell happening.

The weather stripping in that area could crack and crumble and disappear, then allow leaks to the back floor. But some black roofing caulk fixes it up instead of the 220 dollar replacement part.

ASK ME HOW I KNOW.

Id be cautious, early E46s had some crazy rear subframe issues

I thought it was only Ms that had the subframe issues?

“Usually not a green or tan person” GTFO. BRG with tan is the BEST.

Unfortunately it’s both early E46s (1999-2001) and the Ms. Its usually just more apparent on the Ms because they had to handle quite a bit more than they average E46.

Also where the upper rear shock mount is can be problematic. E36 had same issue. That’s probably more likely than the subframe problem. I doubt a base model sedan got driven all that hard.

Kinja'd!!! Trunk Impaired 318 > -this space for rent-
03/27/2016 at 18:04

Yes that too, the rear suspension of the E46 is very similar to that of the E36 so they share quite a few of the same issues.

Its not necessarily a reason to write off early E46s all together but rather something that needs to be carefully inspected for before buying, as should be done with any BMW >10 years old.

Green is growing on me. I stalked a green DB9 on EBay and I still think about it. In my head, green looks best on British cars though.

the previous owner of my car put a scratches on every panel of my car. If it’s cheaper to repaint my entire car instead of fixing all the scratches over time I might change the color from black to british racing green.

Like 3-ish years ago there was one in this color for sale in my hometown for like 3k because the owner “broke the key in the ignition”

Ugh. Could've been a track car.
